Grecciola vineyard

Grecciola vineyard

Location: Tuscany

Year: 2016 – 2019

Type: private

The hilltop village of Grecciola is located near the town of Bagnone in northern Tuscany. The existing site buildings date back to the 19th century and formally operated as a farm complex. The proposal involves the complete renovation of the original house to provide two generous private apartments. In addition the surrounding smaller farm buildings will become agritourism rental accommodation, a wine bar / restaurant and a small museum. The extensive landscape around the village cluster will be converted into a large vineyard growing local grapes. Wine production, fermentation and bottling will take place in the cellar of the original farm house. The top of the site will also see the introduction of a winter garden and a swimming pool. Conceptually the design for the project was heavily influenced by the existing property and landscape. Inspiration was also taken from historical Tuscan farm buildings and palaces primarily constructed by the Medici family from the 15th to the 17th century.
